I liked the pose of this pair of Great Blue Herons photographed at the Venice Rookery in Venice, Florida

The birds commonly found in our backyards make photographs as beautiful as the ones captured in more exotic locations.

It was late afternnon as I was leaving Merritt Island NWR when noticed this egret on a low shrub preening itself. The strong winds swept the feathers forward making an interting image.

I spent quite a few mornings during the summer of 2005 and 2006 photographing osprey along the Connecitcut shoreline. This one had a sucessful fishing trip!

I am not certain this heron was enjoing its reflection, but I certainly liked the pose.
